October 7-13, 2007
Mental Illness Awareness Week; established by Congress in 1990
in recognition of NAMI's efforts to raise mental illness awareness.
Bipolar Disorder Awareness Day is held each year on the Thursday
of this week (Oct. 11th, this year) to encourage further
understanding and promote early intervention and treatment for
this mental illness. The Affiliate normally performs some form(s) of
service/activity in recognition of and in support of this week/day.
